I have open carried in front of the police. I have approached police officers openly carrying my sidearm. And had a pleasant conversation. I even shook their hands while being openly armed.
I have had conversations with a police officer while open carrying my Glock survival knife. Overall length 12 inches.
I do not hate the police. Unlike the libertarians, liberals and leftists who do hate the police.
In the past, there have been many protests of people openly carrying guns and carrying signs. Stating their political positions. And the police were present at those protests.
And no one was arrested because the protesters were not breaking the law.
