In reply to GWB. that's a bingo. in grade school my boy was clonked over the head with a packed snow/ ice chonk by a much older, larger girl. they both recieved days of suspension. my appointment with the childless principle broad was kept, and she kept glancing at her watch while i got my full 15min worth. i never passed opportunities to mention this injustice esp if i saw her out in public. she made the mistake of having dinner at my local establishment. never returned, no longer works in our district. it felt like the u.k.

Guarantee the author of that WSJ piece is a die hard believer in the idea of punishing both the bully and the bullied in school if the bullied fights back, and in the ‘principle’ of “Violence is never right.”

1. In a perfect world, people would act politely and lawfully because they respect others rights to exist.
2. In a slightly less perfect world, people would act politely and lawfully because they don’t want to get arrested.
3. In a perfectly acceptable world, people would act politely and lawfully because they don’t want to get shot.
I’d prefer No. 1, but I can live with Nos. 2 and 3.

The WSJ map is wrong for Illinois. Never had a duty to retreat law so is effectively SYG.
