This gun was originally the FN Baracuta. Astra built the Baracuta for FN. It had a 4" barrel. It is built on a .357 frame because it originally had swapable cylinder assemblies. The big screw on the right side of the frame is to remove the cylinder and yoke as one unit. The Baracuta had cylinders in .357, .38spl, and 9mm. Then Astra made the Astra .357, basicly the Baracuta without the cylinder swap. The Astra .357 came in 4" or 6" barrels. There was also a .44 mag big brother to it. The Police/960 was a copy of the Baracuta with just the .38spl cylinder and shortened the barrel to 3". On the off chance you can find a Baracuta 9mm cylinder assembly, it will fit the Police pistol. I can't say for sure but I suspect the Baracuta .357 cylinder would be safe to use too. Unless they changed the rifling in the barrel, but I doubt it, .38spl and .357 mag use the same twist rate.

The Astra Police .357 was a joint project of FN Herstal and Astra to be sold as FN's only ever revolver to the international law enforcement market. It was sold from '73-89' as the FN Barracuda with a little different shaped fixed rear sight and by Astra as the Police under its own brand. It had two different cylinders, a .38/.357 and a 9mm Luger using star clips.

Are you familiar with the Astra model Police? The revolver comes with two cylinders chambered in 9 mm and 357 mag. I believe it has a 3 and one-half inch barrel. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

maybe that's what "You can rotate the ring to change the double-action trigger pull into four different settings." means.

travis, where you list the trigger pull weights you have double action twice.

I think the Astra Police has an adjustable trigger pull. A lot of Astra revolvers did.

If I remember correctly, but this might not be the Police model...There is a round device in the grip that has different depth holes in it for the base of the mainspring. You pull it out sideways, rotate it a 1/4-turn and put it back in for a different trigger-pull.
