Fact Check: Did Iran Try to Assassinate Donald Trump?

"
...
'They want to kill him. He's enemy number one,' referring to [...] President Donald Trump. Netanyahu described Iran's animosity toward Trump as deeply rooted in his aggressive Middle East policies, including the U.S. withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal and the targeted drone strike on General Soleimani in 2020.

Netanyahu's public statement reflects findings already documented by U.S. authorities.

... Shakeri, while in Tehran, conducted multiple interviews with the FBI in which he admitted being tasked with surveilling and killing Trump in the months before the 2024 presidential election.

The criminal complaint states that Shakeri was instructed by a senior IRGC official in September 2024 to prioritize the Trump plot over other assignments. When Shakeri raised concerns about the cost, he was [...] told: 'We have already spent a lot of money,' indicating that the regime was willing to finance a continued effort to assassinate Trump.
...
Christopher Wray, then director of the FBI, said in a statement that same month:

'Iran has been conspiring with criminals and hitmen to target and gun down Americans on U.S. soil, and that simply won't be tolerated'.

The DOJ confirmed that Shakeri had enlisted two U.S.-based men in a parallel plot to kill Iranian-American activist Masih Alinejad. Both men were arrested in New York, while Shakeri remains at large in Iran.

True. The claim that Iran attempted to assassinate Donald Trump is substantiated by criminal indictments, FBI investigations and intelligence briefings. The Justice Department has outlined evidence that an Iranian-directed operative was ordered to surveil and develop a plan to kill Trump before the 2024 election."

(in short, Iran knew Trump would not put up with their ambitions for a nuclear weapon. With Trump out of the way, its likely Kamala Harris would have ended up winning the election basically by default because no one else was really running against her. Iran knew from previous experience that democrat presidents are weak and lack the strength and fortitude and political resolve to stop them and talk a lot but never really do anything to them that stops or curtails their nuclear weapon ambitions, they wanted a democrat president and despite Kamalas statements she had already shown she was willing to give Iran what it wanted by her help with them getting the $16 billion that Biden unfroze. So I have no doubt that under a democrat president in office this time instead of Trump in his second term we would have seen an Iran nuclear weapon used, at a minimum. against U.S. forces in the region (Iran had already threatened to do this) and Israel and others in the region. And although the two that did try to actively kill Trump haven't been publicly connected to Iran, the actions of Biden for weakening Trumps protective detail and statements from people in Irans government indicate a willingness to facilitate or rejoice in Trump being killed. But still, the fact remains that Iran wanted Trump killed and even tried to do it through Shakeri.)

There have been presidents, democrat and republican, that have said 'Iran can not have a nuclear weapon'. The most contributory, in fact a direct line to modern times Iran nuclear weapons, were weak democrat presidents, even going so far as to fund Iran's nuclear weapon program.

It began with democrat president Harry S. Truman. He sanctioned the attempts to destabilize the Mosaddegh government to over throw it.

Then there was democrat president Jimmy Carter. Iran blatantly exploited the weakness of this president, and due to his in-action and weakness - On Nov. 4, 1979, less than two weeks after the constitution of the new Islamic Republic was adopted, a group calling itself Muslim Students Following the Imam’s Line (that is, the Ayatollah Khomeini’s line) entered the U.S. Embassy compound in Tehran and took hostage the skeleton staff of sixty-six that was still serving there after the fall of the Shah – thus attacked the United States (the embassy was, under international law, United States soil) and by doing such declared war on the United States. And for the last 46 years we have been at war with Iran.

President Bill Clinton described a nuclearlzed Iran as intolerable and signed the Iran Nonproliferation Act of 2000, "which authorize[d] him to take punitive action against individuals or organizations known to be providing material aid to weapons of mass destruction (WMD) programs in Iran."

Clinton did nothing when it was discovered Iran was trying to enrich uranium for weapons grade.

" ... when the United States says it is unacceptable for Iran to have a nuclear weapon, we mean what we say. I don't bluff.

---- President Barack Obama - 2012 - in laying out argument against Iran containment and instead for disruption, by force, if necessary in relation to Iran having nuclear weapon, and saying he was being 'crystal clear' about this"

Then Obama gave Iran $ 1.6 Billion on pallets that Iran used to build centrifuges for enriching uranium to 90% weapons grade.

"[Iran] will never get a nuclear weapon on my watch.

---- President Joe 'lets take a shower Ashley' Biden - 2021"

Then Biden unfroze $16 billion of Iran's money and let them have it. Iran make a 'pinky swear' to use the money for 'humanitarian purposes' then used the money for its nuclear and weapons program and funding more attacks on U.S. military and our allies, and for increasing their 90% weapons grade uranium.

AS an aside: Even cackling Kamala Harris in a very rare moment of clarity said :

"Make no mistake, as president, I will never hesitate to take whatever action is necessary to defend American forces and interests from Iran and Iran-backed terrorists, and I will never allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon.

---- Kamala Harris 2024 during her campaign - despite helping Joe basically give Iran $16 Billion that Iran used for increasing their 90% weapons grade uranium"

For years, presidents did nothing with an Iran crossing the president 'Unanimous Red Line' of having a nuclear weapon. Then Iran finally did it - despite their many attacks over the years in their declared war against us, this time they picked the wrong President, and Donald Trump did not back down and end up giving Iran what it wanted like the democrat presidents before him. Iran attempted to assassinate him because they saw him as the biggest threat to their nuclear weapon ambitions and because in his first term he had started trying things to stop their nuclear ambitions such as the January 2020 drone strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani who was heading up the deployment plans for a Iran nuclear weapon and withdrawing from the very exploitable and poorly crafted Iran nuclear deal, being exploited by Iran to continue its nuclear weapons program, so he could impose sanctions against Iran aimed at keeping Iran from getting what it needed to build a nuclear weapon, sanctions the nuclear deal kept from happening. This should have been a clue to Iran that we knew what they were up to but they still persisted. And then Iran threatens to use a nuclear weapon - and Trump did what needed to be done, did what Clinton and Obama and Biden paid lip service to but did nothing about.

Hell freezes over and pigs fly: Scarborough Shocks Viewers with Rare Defense of Trump’s Iran Strike: 'Any President Would've Done It'

"
...
In a rare moment of clarity from the liberal media, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough left viewers stunned on Monday when he offered a surprising defense of President Donald Trump’s bold and strategic strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Known for his relentless criticism of Trump, Scarborough broke ranks with the left-wing echo chamber by acknowledging the strength and effectiveness of the president’s Operation Midnight Hammer.

During Monday’s broadcast of 'Morning Joe,' Scarborough said he was not 'championing either side,' but defended Trump's strikes on Iran’s nuclear program. He argued that any president, including Hillary Clinton and George W. Bush, would have felt compelled to act given Iran’s looming nuclear threat.

'I find it hard to believe that Bush 41, Bush 43, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton, you know, go down the list, any president wouldn’t have felt compelled to take that strike,' he said. 'What would Monday look like if he hadn’t have moved? If Iran wasn’t already at 60 percent [enrichment of uranium] and an ability to create nuclear weapons in a short matter of time, right?'
..."

We have, what is it now, 26? 29? -- I've lost track at how many States allow 18 year olds to carry without training or permit -- surely there'd be data by now that shows this is, indeed, a dangerous move!

But we never get that. Bills like this are always vetoed on "hunches" and "assumptions" -- the likes of which are almost never born out by actual experience!

Everything you wrote is painfully incorrect.

Weeks of intense classroom and hands-on training? Weeks? The Marines have the longest Boot Camp at 13 weeks and they literally get Range _Week_ for "hands-on" instruction. Add in Grass Week and that's two.

And, of course, after that period they are no longer "recruits" in any Service and can purchase and carry personal weapons per the laws of the state in which they live, just not on base. I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure none of the Services still require junior enlisted to live on base.

"Of course, you don’t give a shit about people having the right to go govern themselves..."

(As if I can go back in time and stop what happened back in 1953...you have a secret time machine in your mental illness apparently)

Hey, I'm all for "people having the right to go govern themselves", that's what I've been talking about because the 'right to go govern themselves' also means freedom from 'government' and others stomping all over constitutional rights by trying to remove or oppress or control the very rights those people have involved with the ability to "go govern themselves", like the right to keep and bear arms. You advocate for such government to remove or oppress or control of the constitutional right to keep and bear arms. So why do you hate the idea of "people having the right to go govern themselves" and hate America so much?

(note: I'm not even going to bother with the rest of your crazy in that post. The crazy in it is obvious enough and I don't have the time right now.)
