People convicted of non violent felonies, meaning crimes such as tax evasion, writing a bad check, stealing a bicycle, etc. where their crime was not associated with violence or intended to be violent, should be able to bear arms.

Any person can cross the line from peaceful to violent for any number of reasons. You see it in the news all the time. It would be stupid to anticipate a non violent person committing a violent crime just because he committed a non violent felony at some time. Take a minute and look up what constitutes a felony. You might, or might not, discover you are guilty of many felonies but you just have not been caught. Does that make you shouldn’t own a firearm? Did you know, not paying a traffic ticket can become a felony? Let that sink in.

and also the war on guns being in the hands of people that shouldn’t have them will never change. SO WHY DO CITIZENS WHO HAVE NOT BEEN IN TROUBLE MADE A MISTAKE MANY YEARS AGO AND DONT ACT LIKE IT COULDN”T HAPPEN TO ANY OF US. BE THANKFUL IT DIDN”T HAPPEN TO YOU. I HAVE A RIGHT TO DEFEND MY FAMILY JUST LIKE ANYONE ELSE. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROTECT MYSELF FROM SOMEONE WHO OWNS A GUN THAT SHOULDN”T. NOW CAN WE GO AFTER THE GOVERNMENT FOR CHARGING PEOPLE WITH BEING IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON WHEN THEY SHOULDN”T HAVE EVER BEEN CHARGED THAT ??

Have u gotten an answer I’m in same boat and have done numerous good deeds working w multiple law enforcement agencies, all mayors of surrounding cities and even contracted by calfire and awarded medal of excellence.. mine was felony possession of cocaine which also isn’t a felony anymore and they also passed senate bill 731 that wipes felonies off record after 4years no trouble. Mine happened 22years ago !
