If we tax the public statements words, each one, in each of the missives for gun-control put out by just EveryTown, Moms Demand Action, Giffords at a rate of $200.00 per word; Each year all the wildlife programs enabled by Pittman-Robertson would be fully funded, all child care programs would be fully funded (i.e. school meals programs, child tax credit, WIC, etc...), all healthcare programs would be fully funded, all mental health care programs could be fully funded down to individual community level nation wide, all programs nationwide for the homeless would be fully funded, and we would have less than $2 Trillion in national debt.

This is just for these three groups in public statements. Now think about adding in all the other splinter groups (i.e. Students Demand Action) and anti-gun democrat and RINO politicians taxed at the same rate for their public statements favoring gun-control.

(note: based upon approximate word count of public statements for gun control from these groups in the last 4.5 years)

We could impose this tax in a tax law and even call it the 'National Firearms Act' NFA as their statements are related to 'firearms use and possession' activity ... 'cause you know, apparently its been OK with these groups and politicians that for the last 90 years its been Ok to use a tax law to regulate and infringe a constitutional right. So I say tax these groups and politicians for their related 'firearms use and possession' activity.

I'm a big supporter of all the wildlife programs enabled by Pittman-Robertson (1937) funds, and all the range construction funded by the Target Practice and Marksmanship Training Support Act (2013).
But!
Let's be clear who's paying for all that: It's not the firearms and ammunition and archery industry. All those excise taxes are paid by consumers.
And not just by hunters buying hunting guns and ammo and bows and arrows: Everybody pays those taxes every time we buy a gun for whatever purpose.
We pay those taxes when we buy a carton of 9mm for a USPSA match, or when we buy a box of .22LR for an Appleseed clinic, not just when we buy a few .30-06 to invite Bambi home for dinner.

I'm glad to pay the excise taxes because I'm happy with how the funds are managed and where they're going and the results they have delivered.
I'm glad the industry is involved - just don't take all the credit for it.
