What’s the legal liability in something like this?

Mr Pretti had choices which would have saved his life:
1. Why carry a gun to a “mostly peaceful” protest?
2. Reportedly he had a concealed carry permit and if he carried concealed, how did law enforcement officers know he was carrying a gun?
3. Avoid interfering with law enforcement officers and simply leave them be. Mind your own business and when encountering law enforcement officers, follow their instructions.
4. Consider just because you can doesn’t always mean you should.
5. Stay home and avoid the “mostly peaceful” protesting area altogether thus staying safe.

Since the protests are reported as “mostly peaceful”, why would anyone, especially on the left, show up with a gun? Reportedly Mr Pretti had a permit to carry concealed and if he was carrying concealed, how did the agents know he was carrying? As pointed out in the video posted by .40 cal(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUMqFGsPpLQ) Mr Pretti’s behavior is a point of discussion. This was a needless loss of life that could have easily been avoided.

2. Don’t approach any law enforcement officers doing their jobs. Leave them be.
3. Follow instructions stated by officers.
4. Think about just because you can doesn’t always mean you should.
5. Consider all of the above and make the decision to STAY home.
