I hope for a 990S model to feed shorty shells like the 590S (so the tube could hold 8 of 1¾” instead of only 5 of 2¾”), but they might not provide enough power to cycle the action.

Is the 990 compatible with SB Tactical’s 590-SBM4 or 590-SBL brace & grip?

In reply to Geoff PR. Since Mossberg already makes a detachable magazine-fed 590 (model 590M), it would not be too much of a stretch to rework the 940/990 to use the same magazines.

This looks like the perfect use for mini shells. Hopefully they designed this to work with them. But I feel like they would have highlighted that fact if they did.
