A motion for a discretionary change of venue is pretty much up to the trial judge, and the fact that juries on Boston won’t be sympathetic isn’t a valid basis for a venue transfer.

Mexico’s attorneys forum shopped the case into a district where the defendants have operations (yet another reason gunmakers should move to better states!) and where they knew the district judges, court of appeals judges, and juries would be hostile. (It’s called smart lawfare. Our side does the same thing when we file test cases in NDTX that will have to be heard by sympathetic GOP appointed district judges, with appeals going to the very conservative Fifth Circuit.)

Hopefully SCOTUS will take up the appeal, but these days I’m not holding my breath. ACB appears to have caught a bad case of Beltwayitis.
