As we know, what they claim, and what they really want are two different things. They want control. They had control of the institutions. They had Big Tech in their pocket. They want to pump out their message, and they want you to obey. They had their chance, and they went full authoritarian the first chance they got. They have conclusively proven that they don't care about the average American.

Even when I decided to vote R, and then Trump in 2016, I had not given up on Democrats. They merely had the least compelling argument for me. Then I found the Russia narrative to be very odd because I looked at the evidence every time a new story came up and found it lacking. Then the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation process happened. Again, I examined the evidence. I was shocked at how Democrats were blatantly lying about that. It was like they were unmasked (Dems and the media). That was the point when I said I was voting straight R until further notice. The Dems have reinforced that feeling for me every year since.

Won't matter really. The percentage of the population that will read at that level is diminishing each year and of that many have pivoted to less guided media to get basic information. Much like CNN and others they will see a collapse and have to scramble to maintain a smaller share of a less interested population.

They'll have to evolve beyond prohibition if they don't want to fade away completely.
Gun ownership is up among women and minorities.
There are tens of millions more in circulation now than when their firearm temperance movement began.
The majority of the country legislatively is very 2A friendly.
All of their other issues are bottom-barrel concerns with the majority of voters.
They claim to want to reach out to the "average" voter, the working class and young men something clinging to gun control won't help.

If the Dems had dropped this bullshit back in the 90's I might be a Dem myself today. It was my disdain for gun control and their ridiculous PMRC hearings that ensured I'd never support the Dems.
