Generally speaking (again assuming you are at a logistically difficult location be it distance terrain or access roads from any nearby city) any likely raiding for supplies would be pretty exhausted within days to a few weeks and likely would quickly collapse as gathered supplies would fail to appease the numbers involved even before resistant holdouts get involved. If a region like yours would be targeted it would more be because of perceived threats to power consolidation after the fact and a hobby drone with some gasoline dumped on your roof at 0dark30 from a mile+ out would be the most likely method as denial of resources/shelter would be just as good as termination of threat….. it’s been weird watching the Ukraine footage after other things from a decade ago.

The military wasting several hundred thousand dollars to drone my ass … that’s pretty f*ing stupid given I don’t represent much of a threat. I live in the boonies to avoid stupid Democrat urbanites who, at the first sign of a systems breakdown, will be looking for something to eat, given that most of them have empty refrigerators and depend on Uber Eats to deliver their victuals. Besides, if the powers that be were smart, they wouldn’t drone my ass, they would raid my stores to give to the useless. I think that is a far more likely threat.

Then assuming you are fairly far from the spill zone in case of a logistics breakdown to the nearest city the biggest realistic threat (beyond some weird shit of .gov drone strikes) would be the weirdos playing arson via various means and given your description of the area a drone dispersed incendiary to your roof would be the smartest way to go about it……..which would be stupidly unlikely given the investment in resources to get anyone halfway competent out your way for such mischief. So unless your area is prone to wildfires good to go……..yeah I did not enjoy my last few years in the army when the focus was on domestic insurgency.

I have a well, a stone wall around the house, a driveway gate, barbed wire around the acreage, a couple of generators, and several freezers. I stock up every several weeks and during hunting season. The closest neighbor is around 200 yards away, and is armed and prepped as me. Everyone else in this “rural residential” neighborhood is of like mind in terms of preps.

So long as food water and basic logistics are covered (including basic to intermediate medical care) yeah. May have concerns regarding raiders after food and supplies but time distance and terrain should thin those out enough for neighbors with rifles to help fend off. Just make sure your water source is not easily diverted or turned off by those upstream in whatever form they may take.

If you can, move to the boonies, preferably an hour outside any town 50,000 population or less. The region between the Sierra Nevada and the hundredth meridian (which goes through Dallas) is one of the least populated on Earth, despite the presence of major cities like Vegas, Denver, and Phoenix. Only about 8% of the total population of the US lives in that region. Staying in a major eastern or west coast city is just asking for it.
