When it is to our advantage, 2A defenders do like themselves some law that holds people responsible for the criminal acts of third parties.

The law is too narrow. It should include people who will not let you carry firearms onto, their property, and/or into their homes. . . .including those who post no hunting signs.

I like it. I asked an HR person where I had a teaching job if they were going to provide armed guards since they forbade guns. They said no, then fired me. Go figure.

Interesting. Since the gun rights folks “ran the table” in the last couple of sessions, I didn’t think there was much more to be done in Texas, but this would indeed be a paradigm shift and model for other states.

Unfortunately, even if it can pass the Senate (5/9th majority needed, which means we can only have 1 GOP defection), there does not appear to be enough time left in the Legislative session for the bill to be reported out of committee (much less given the required three readings) in the House before the session ends in early June. (This is par for the course in the Texas Legislature — not uncommon to bills like this to be brought up late so that the politicians can say “hey, I’m a 2A supporter — see, I voted for this” when they know there simply aren’t enough days left in the session for the other chamber to pass it.)

I’d love to be proven wrong but I’ve seen this movie many times before.

even more sneaky spammers – ‘LLC for professional writers’ and ‘Julius Goldner’ both have links to web sites in their names, one site a previous one to things for animals and the other has a dns error through cloudflare.
