A fair number of us are vigilant, we’re just severely outnumbered, especially since the Dems have a super-majority in our legislature…they’ve been in control of the legislature for just about 50 years straight, thanks to how people in SF and LA vote. The rest of us in the mountains and norther parts of the state vote conservative, but there aren’t as many of us. So, we have to win in court, and that has been happening more lately thanks to the groundwork established by Bruen, McDonald and Heller. The problem is that the legislature throws up these laws every year but the time it takes to get them struck down in court is usually measured in decades.

During a signing at the White House on Wednesday, the president talked about the passage of the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act, originally introduced by Republican Wisconsin Rep. Derrick Van Orden.

‘An estimated 61,000 American veterans are in danger of losing their homes … but thanks to this bill, the @DeptVetAffairs will be empowered to pay loan holders the necessary amount to prevent foreclosures on our veterans,’ he added. ‘So our veterans won’t be foreclosed and put out on the streets.’

‘This bill also creates a five-year partial claim program that could benefit up to 3.7 million veterans. And will add nothing to debt,’ Trump continued, noting that the bill passed unanimously in the House and the Senate.

In a press release from Van Orden’s office, he explained further what the bill will do.

It read:

This legislation establishes a permanent partial claims program within the VA Home Loan Program, bringing VA in line with other federal agencies that lend money for homes and replacing the fiscally irresponsible Biden administration-era VASP program. Veterans will be permitted to have the same programs non-veterans have available to them through FHA loans, allowing veterans who have fallen behind on their mortgages to receive federal assistance.

The United States of America in 2025 is a fractured place. What was once a casual political divide has become deep and difficult to navigate. One could say, “Well, it’s everybody’s fault,” but it’s not.

Councilwoman Parks is not an outlier. This is the Democratic Party in the Year of our Lord 2025. The Dems freely rationalize all aberrant behavior if it is in the service of fighting ORANGE MAN BAD.

Religious liberty can be something we take for granted — until someone takes it away from us. Federal employees just received welcome news from the Trump administration. A memo that the Office of Personnel Management issued earlier this week says that federal employees may practice their faith in public and private areas of the workplace, including sharing their faith with co-workers.

The memo cites President Donald Trump’s executive orders on eliminating anti-Christian bias and establishing a Religious Liberty Commission. Scott Kupor, director of the Office of Personnel Management, cited federal statutes and court cases to bolster the notion that First Amendment religious freedom extends into the federal workforce.

The ones the Biden DOJ spent years prosecuting Trump for only to have the case dismissed in July 2024. It turns out that the documents were not actually classified. they were documents that Trump had declassified previously. A president is the top authority and owner for all U.S. government classified documents and has the power to declassify them if so chooses. When a president leaves office, they legally able to take documents they have declassified with them if they so choose. All presidents do this for certain things when they leave office, and those declassified documents become property of that outgoing president.

[note: This same authority for classified documents that Presidents have, Vice Presidents do no have that authority (although, they can be given declassified documents to keep after they leave office). Biden had classified documents in his Delaware garage, he took those while Vice President and they had never been declassified – he literally stole classified information. The Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) did a little investigation, wrote a report, and decided, “No criminal charges are warranted” for Biden.]

Anyway, after Trump was elected for this term – those documents unlawfully seized – were returned to Trump and sent back to Mar-A-Lago by Alina Habba US Attorney for the District of New Jersey.
