LOL peasants…..yeah does define a lot of the population but may want to check pending litigation and compliance rates before dismissing the entirety of the state….. especially when most of the registered “assault weapons” of the safe act belong to police officers and tied to their badge.

If I hear alarming cries from my child or wife, while at home, I’m not going to take the time to don armor either, that’s as you pointed, foolish. However, wife hears a bump in the night outside that she wants me to go investigate, well I have plate set up, and helmet next to my shotgun that takes me < a minute to put on.

That is a ridiculous rebuttal that demonstrates a lack of comprehension. What is being advocated here is the use of armor in the event you find that civil unrest has come to your neighborhood, like the McCloskey’s. Or you decide to actually have a pair and step out to conduct civic duty to other citizens like Rittenhouse set out to do; someone who wasn’t looking for a fight but was prepared. What isn’t be advocated here is the you notion that armor is for EDC. Roman soldiers didn’t do mundane chores in their armor either, but they kept it close at hand, armor has its place.

The peasants of California and New York both gave up their rights long ago and have no inclining to get them back. However if one has the mindset of a free citizen, I’m sure their like minded friends from other places could and would help them out.

The only times I wear my body armor is when I am training at the range (AR 500 plate) and when I do ride alongs with the local PD and Sheriff’s office (ceramic). It’s like having a fire extinguisher. Something you have in case you need it and hope you never do.
