I’ve always had trouble finding good boots that fit properly, and every time I looked at this brand, none in my size were available. They sure looked nice, but it just didn’t happen. Back when I did construction work, I settled on Wolverine steel toes. I know, a cuss word here in Ohio, but dammit they are comfortable. I made regular trips to the Rocky store, hoping to find a good hunting boot like the Irish Setter above. It took a couple years and several pilgrimages, but my number finally came up. I know they weren’t made here, but it’s an Ohio company with Ohio roots, and that assuages my guilt about the Wolverines.

I tried to make a comment about experience with my current boots, but the system wouldn’t post it. I’ll look into Irish Setter and Red Wing for insulated boots this fall.
