Vortex continues to expand its budget-friendly Triumph line of optics. Currently, the line includes a 3-9×40 riflescope, a 10×42 binocular, and a rangefinder. However, Vortex is now adding a red dot to the mix with the Triumph 2 MOA red dot.
According to Vortex, “The Triumph line proves that an honest, attractively priced optic doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice quality.” In my experience, whenever I’ve tested Vortex’s budget options, they’ve impressed. Just bear in mind who these optics are intended for. Hint: not operators and law enforcement. These are for average shooters who want something easy and simple to help them enjoy their hobbies, whether that’s on the range or in the field.

Features
The Triumph 2 MOA red dot is a simple, straightforward optic designed to help new and recreational shooters get going quickly, with a focus on practical features. In this case, less is more.
According to Vortex, the Triumph line has always been about providing an honest, attractively priced optic that delivers good performance. It has a sharp 2 MOA illuminated dot that’s daylight-bright when the sun is high and effective under night vision, thanks to nine daylight and two night-vision settings.

New at this price point from Vortex is motion-activation with a 10-minute auto-shutoff to so it’s always ready and extend battery life without requiring the shooter’s attention Nothing is worse than leaving an optic on, only to find days or weeks later that you killed the battery.
The multi-height mount system includes both a lower third co-witness mount and a low mount right in the box. It’s adaptable and aesthetically pleasing with a slight forward lean.

Zooming Out
Priced at about $99.99 retail, the Triumph 2 MOA red dot sight is designed for shooters seeking reliable performance without a steep learning curve…or high cost. Until now, Vortex has offered the Crossfire red dot priced at about $150 as their budget option. My guess is that something will eventually change with the Crossfire feature-wise while the Triumph slots in as the new budget king.

I’ve mounted a test model on a Henry Homesteader and I’m excited to see how it holds up—once things warm up a little here in Ohio.
