i think i have seven strewn about. checking mousetraps, reading fine print, you know. for carry i like the 18350 battery sized torches. the cr123 sizedstuff is very carryable as well (four sevens mini turbo, etc).
work gave me a streamlight strion which while they output rate it much lower than my carry piece it really much brighter and throwier.
that sort of thing makes a site like zero air helpful as he does the exact same criteris with everything he reviews. can also recommend everydaycommentary for lights and knives. gadgetconnection has some really affordable chicom stuff.

“… asking her…”

I had that problem too. Does your wife have a missing twin? I keep the good ones with my kit and in the cars, and I bought a sack of cheap lookalikes at Walmart and scattered them around the house, all easy to hand. They end up getting shifted around, and if she complains about a dead one, I replace batteries and return it to circulation. She’s within 10 feet of a flashlight anywhere in the house, and she’s happy.

My wife has her flashlights and I have mine. We probably have at least 20 between us all over the house and in the vehicles. Part of the prepping lifestyle. I was just brought that way by my Ol'Man who lived through the Great Depression. You can never have enough of the things you will when SHTF.

I carry a Stream Stylus Pro everyday.

It’s length allows a good hold and rides well on my offside pocket.

I have more powerful lights in my truck and a couple of small (but powerful) fob lights in my computer bag.

Like the author, my age and eyesight mean I use a light more often than a pocketknife.

But I carry a couple of those as well.

"The idea is that those who are now known by some as “tactical bros” would recognize each other as they went about their business and would nod understandingly."

I occasionally get 'the nod', and return it. Southern hospitality politeness, and all.

The reason is simple, life now requires cargo pants to EDC anything of value, and I pocket carry an LCR in .357 in a DeSantis 'sticky' style holster someone here on SNW recommended about 2 months back.

Thank you, thank you, commenter, I flat *love* that pocket holster for my magnum snubbie.

Anyways, back to 'the nod' - The DeSantis presents a square in my pocket, just off enough from a wallet that it kinda prints, so to speak, to those who know. The double-overlay flap on the DeSantis totally covers the obvious outline of the revolver quite handily.

Thanks again to the commenter that recommended the DeSantis!
