Despite the high hopes that many of us had for this site (“Yay!! A real 2A news site, without an insane and inconsistent ‘moderation’ policy!!”), it appears to have imported much of TTAG’s insane ‘moderation’ policy, and added a few cherries on top.

I’ve had similar results to yours. Apparently, there are at least two levels of ‘moderation’, and they appear to be just as insane and inconsistent as TTAG.

Off to search for a new site that actually does decent moderation . . . oh, and maybe EXPLICITLY STATES what their rules for moderation are???????

SNW started with promise, and has become a virtual copy of TTAG (albeit with more content). Any suggestions???

That happened to three of mine (times multiple attempts) that were disagreeing but respectful comments in favor of traditional smithing techniques and materials over 3D printing. They just fell off the face of the Earth, and never popped up over the four days or so I refreshed the page.

And now Nexstar is refusing, again, to carry Kimmel: ABC Reinstates Jimmy Kimmel, but Nexstar Is Saying ‘Nope’.

When you make a comment, and the page refreshes and your comment disappears, it means that the comment didn’t go to the moderation folder. It went straight into the WordPress trashcan because of some weird security protocol. I think it can still be retrieved, but Dan probably doesn’t check that often.

It might be that those posts were waiting for moderation. You see them for awhile because of cookies/history stored on your computer. Just a guess.

Earlier I made some posts, a couple said they were going to moderation but appeared a few minutes later after a refresh of the page and did not have the moderation notice any longer. They stayed for several minutes and multiple refreshes with no moderation notice. So I leave for a bit and come pack to the page and the posts are gone.

I’ve also spoken over the last few days to a few others that post here and they also have had some of their posts vanish that had been showing for a few days after they were posted.

I don’t think Dan is removing them, and I know he approves posts in moderation as soon as he can get to it, but this is different as the posts simply vanish after showing up. I have some posts in another comment section that were posted a few days ago and have been showing but this morning when I checked I find they have vanished.
