Gavin Newsom vented his displeasure, writing “Californians voted to require background checks on ammunition. Their voices should matter.” That’s rich since the background check system in place now isn’t what Californians voted for at all.
No serious supporter of constitutional rights believes in taxing them, regulating them out of existence, or shifting control over them to bureaucratic fiat. Yet Newsom has done all of that—and is positioning himself to do more on a national stage.
Gun control’s charade to disarm the American public is ending. That’s why the panic is setting in. They’re lashing out against the Trump administration because the administration refuses to play along with their unconstitutional antics.
That people get the government they deserve is a cruel adage, too cruel if you live in dark places where a small minority with guns terrorizes an unarmed population—see “Cuba, socialist state of.” But in a democracy, the maxim holds firmly.
Newsom and his flunkies were probably too intimidated by their own gun laws to figure it out. For the low, low, price of a $10,000 donation to the Second Amendment Foundation, I’d be glad to help Newsom’s team figure this out.
Under current regulations, it’s illegal to possess thermal imaging or night vision equipment while also in possession of a firearm, bow or other object that is used to harvest wildlife outside of the current window from Feb. 1 to March 31.
