Checking back in on SNW after staying away a couple of weeks due to the frustrating moderation goblins, and saw this article.

I like revolvers, 1911s, and Glocks. I absolutely love them, their simplicity, and their reliability to gobble up gun food. I cannot stand Gen5, and have no interest whatsoever in this ballyhooed GenV.

CA has Newsom’s latest abomination (law) coming into effect next year, in which “precursor parts” including triggers and barrels/slides will be required to be purchased through FFLs with BGCs and all that nonsense. Time to get your upper assemblies now, while the window is still open and prices are down due to the current “Trump Slump”.

Glocks work. I am a revolver fan. Much prefer them for range trips. But everybody should own one semi at least. I chose a G19 in 9. 9 is the world’s pistol caliber.

It has the personality of a brick. But it works. And works. And works…….

A question I haven’t seen answered, is whether Glock will be able to get these new pistols onto the California “not unsafe” handgun roster. As I understood it, the Gen 3s being on that list was a big reason Glock kept making them. Does this not just remove about 1/10 of their potential US market (by population)?

In any case, I wish them no ill-will, but unless the trigger and ergonomics are considerably improved I don’t think I will be a customer for a new Glock. The ones we already have in the safe work just fine, even if the Mrs and I don’t especially like shooting them.

The “switches” have been in the public press for at least 7 or 8 years now. Never forget Gaston Glock hated the idea
of civilians with his guns.

So yes. The glock company has been working on “a fix” for this issue for a while now.

The know-how to convert a semi-automatic into a machine gun is well over 100 years old now. And it was legal back then too.

Criminals using machine pistols have been very effective at stopping law enforcement. So yes a machine pistol is a very effective weapon against the government.

The problem is the “gun community” does not embrace discipline.
Along with morality when it comes to who can possess a machine pistol.

And let’s be honest. The vast majority of the people with these switches are black teenagers.

Children raised without fathers should not have machine pistols. But they should have a father who will provide discipline and education on machine pistol ownership.
